Introducing London Square Teddington

London Square has chosen the leafy Thames-side town of Teddington for its prestigious new collection of eighteen, 4 bedroom townhouses and eight apartments, arranged around a private landscaped garden square just off Waldegrave Road.

Here you can enjoy the relaxed, affluent lifestyle that makes Teddington so desirable. From Teddington Lock, take a long walk along the Thames, or even launch onto the water itself from one of the sailing clubs in the area. An appealing range of shops, restaurants and pubs lie within easy walking distance of London Square Teddington, making the decision about how to spend your leisure time a pleasurably difficult one.

London Square Teddington offers the best of many different worlds

Teddington is something of a hub for dining out, which means you don’t have to go very far from home to find an enticing range of places to eat and drink.

Many gastronomic nationalities are represented here. For Italian and Mediterranean food fans there’s Bar Estilo, Girasole, Red Peppers, Trattoria Sorrento, La Dolce Vita and Carluccio’s. Oriental and Asian tastes can be sampled at Thai Smiles, Bengal Brasserie, Bombay Spice and Bilas Tandoori. The Wharf flies the flag for British food, and Retro Bistrot has a comprehensive menu of European classics.

Teddington and its surrounding areas offer a fabulous range of sporting and leisure facilities, whether you prefer the endorphin rush of a high speed bike ride, the camaraderie of an exercise class or simply a relaxed walk with the dog.

Set in 25 acres of riverside grounds at Teddington Lock, the deluxe Lensbury Club boasts a wellequipped gym, a range of classes and a 25 metre pool. Tennis and squash courts are available to members and the club’s watersports centre is a great place to test your skills in canoes, dinghies and kayaks. Membership is open to children and adults.

Teddington itself tends towards independent retailers. Here in the town you can browse for designer and vintage fashion, kitchen equipment, original gifts, lingerie and jewellery. It has many specialist shops too: wine merchants, a traditional butcher, and businesses selling rare books, bicycles and even cigars.

Just a short journey by car or train brings you to Kingston, now firmly established as one of the leading retail centres in the south east. With large branches of John Lewis, Heals, Marks and Spencer, Bentalls, Next and Boots, the town’s reputation is certainly well earned.

Beautiful Bushy Park

Bushy Park is London’s second largest Royal Park after Richmond Park. It became a Royal Park in 1529 when Cardinal Wolsey gave it to King Henry VIII along with Hampton Court Palace. It was re-shaped by King Charles I who created the Longford River along with the Diana statue and fountain.

Today’s visitors can stroll along Wren’s magnificent Chestnut Avenue from the park’s Teddington Gate, or follow the equally splendid Lime Avenue to the Diana fountain. The Upper Lodge Water Gardens are a dramatic sight and the Waterhouse Woodland Garden is simply idyllic.

In addition, there is 1,100 acres of unspoilt open space and woodland to enjoy throughout the park. It’s an inspiring place to run, cycle or walk off the stresses of the working week, perhaps followed by a coffee or snack in one of the cafés. In a quiet moment you might spot some of the wild fallow and red deer that roam free in Bushy Park – almost as if the countryside were on your doorstep.

The Bushy Park playground has been recently updated and provides a great place for children to work off excess energy, with a climbing frame, sandpit, swings and rocks to clamber up.

Education for all

Teddington’s excellent schools, primary and secondary, state and private, make it a popular choice with families. There are three universities in the area, and the good rail links to London mean that no campus is out of reach.
