Lauren Casey and her partner Jerome Guinde were delighted to move into their stylish three-bedroom house in London Square Tadworth Gardens at the beginning of the year - using the Government’s Help to Buy scheme which enabled them to buy a bigger home.
For Lauren, a teacher and principal of her own performing arts school based in Kent and Jerome, a Production Manager for a transport company in London, a home of their own had been their dream for over a year. They were renting and enjoying their flat in Esher but wanted to save so they could afford a home of their own. So, for eight months they lived at Lauren's mother’s house and felt very privileged to have the opportunity to save.
After looking at a variety of properties in the area, they were very excited when they went to an open day at London Square Tadworth Gardens.
We fell in love with the Belgrave layout, especially the open living room. Jennifer, the sales advisor at London Square, was extremely helpful, and gave lots of sound advice and explained how the Help to Buy scheme works. Help to Buy scheme enabled us to buy a bigger home, with the added bonuses of a lovely garden, three bedrooms, two bathrooms and two parking spaces.
I have always lived in Surrey and Jerome had lived in Epsom previously so we both knew the area well. We were keen to move to Tadworth because of the setting next to the woods, local shops, the public transport to commute to work and a new leisure centre which is less than a ten-minute walk away. There is a great local community already and we are now enjoying furnishing the house to make it our perfect home.
During the lockdown Lauren and Jerome really appreciated having their own private garden and being close to woods and open countryside. Lauren explained: We love having the doors to our garden open at the back of the house. We get the sun for the whole day which is a bonus too!
We have been running and going on walks in the woods behind us and it is a 20 minute walk to Epsom Downs, which always has beautiful views.
