Excellent transport connections were a big attraction for fintech professional Sohail Jainwhen buying his first home.
Sohail has purchased a two-bedroom apartment at London Square Caledonian Road in N7, a two-minute walk from Caledonian Road underground and Caledonian Road & Barnsbury overground stations. The stylish new landmark development by award-winning London Square is located between the attractions of Islington and the exciting transformation around King’s Cross
My wife and I were renting a flat in Holloway Road and wanted to stay in North London. I went to see London Square Caledonian Road and was impressed by the floor plans. For me, it was important to find a home with the right floor plan - with corner units, very symmetrical living rooms / bedrooms, minimising wasted space.
I bought the apartment at an early stage and London Square invited me several times during construction to come and see how things were progressing. The after sales service is a big deal when you make such a large investment. They have been fantastic, very friendly service and supportive. I am delighted with the location, the finishings in the apartment and am really impressed by the size of the terrace, which was much bigger than I expected. I have recommended the development to several friends who live in the area and they do hope to go ahead with a purchase.
The transport connections are great, having both the Overground and Underground stations equidistant, along with several bus routes too, which gives you plenty of options to get to most places very quickly. I use the Overground to go to Shoreditch and Hackney where we often go to check out restaurants and bars. My commute to work in the City is via the Piccadilly and Northern lines connecting through Kings Cross - door to door in 20 minutes. One of my favourite places at weekends is the Angel Comedy Club, with free comedy seven days a week. Good local restaurants include Zia Lucia, Sambal Shiok, Trullo and La Farola. We also like the easy access to King’s Cross where there are plenty of restaurants.
