Yesterday evening, children, parents and teachers from the Chigwell Primary Academy Choir gathered around the Christmas tree at London Square Chigwell Village, the area’s most exciting new housing development, for an afternoon of carol singing and festivities.
Joined by teachers, members of the local community and staff from developer London Square, the Choir sang carols such as “Away in a Manger”, “Silent Night” and “Feliz Navidad” against the backdrop of the development which is set amongst 12 acres of leafy grounds. The children were also entertained by story teller, Cyril Mistletoe, who delivered some Dickensian themed tales to the gathered audience. Charles Dickens famously described Chigwell as “the greatest place in the world” so The Christmas Carol theme acted as an homage to one of the village’s most renowned advocates. London Square donated a Folio version of Dickens’ festive novel to the school, for their library.
