Our plan for a sustainable future outlines clear targets for growing London responsibly. We're committed to directing our efforts where they can make the greatest difference – both within our business and across the wider sector.
Our focus:
• Reducing our impact on the environment
• Cultivating green spaces and community living
• Creating opportunities for skills and career development
• Acting with integrity and safety always.
Our environmental goals focus on efficient use of natural resources to limit our impact on climate change, while using modern methods of construction and innovation to build efficiently with the future in mind.
Our goals:
• Maximise the energy and water efficiency of London Square homes, without compromising on quality or the living experience
• Building with nature in mind; supporting natural habitats and maximising the use of sustainability sourced materials
• Supporting communities to thrive through local job creation, training opportunities and access to transport links and local amenities
We use our placemaking expertise and scale to support connected, resilient, and inclusive neighbourhoods.
We’re constantly exploring new ways to apply our expertise so our projects have a real, positive impact on the communities we serve.
• Every year, we deliver in excess of 40% of affordable homes, helping more Londoners access high-quality housing
• We aim for the social and community benefits generated through our projects to be at least 5% of our annual turnover
• We maintain an AIIR (Annual Injury Incidence Rate) which is substantially lower than the HBF published rate, ensuring safety is always our priority
Green skills for real careers
At Holloway Park, we’ve evolved our retrofit training into a hands-on course on heat pumps and sustainable systems, designed with our suppliers and subcontractors. This one-week programme gives local residents practical experience and a pathway into apprenticeships, opening doors to meaningful careers and long-term opportunities in construction and sustainability.
Communities are at the heart of everything we do. We work closely with local stakeholders to shape schemes that respond to real needs, integrating homes with green spaces, schools, shops, transport links, businesses and shared community spaces.
Fair and inclusive employment
As an equal opportunities employer, we aim to support London’s skills base and a workforce representative of the capital.
We hire great people and reward them for doing great work.
Good governance is non-negotiable. We are clear and transparent in our reporting and our board are committed to a sustainable future.
We are committed on driving diveristy and inclusion. We have an above-average representation of female (34%) and ethnic minority (37%) employees. We are also proud to say that 32% of our employees are aged between 25-34 and our Square Roots board is 75% female.
We recruit for talent and skills without bias, providing equality of opportunity in all its forms.
