London Square scooped the WhatHouse? Best Small Housebuilder of the Year plus Gold and Silver awards at the annual ceremony at the Grosvenor House Hotel on Park Lane. Actor, author and comedian David Walliams presented the prize to London Square’s Sales and Marketing Director, Rebecca Littler, on stage at the event, the largest and most prestigious awards event in UK housebuilding, now in its 34th year. London Square dominated this year’s WhatHouse? Awards, taking the top Best Small Housebuilder accolade, plus Gold for Best Luxury Development for London Square Fulham, an elegant residential square created on a former industrial site and Silver for Best Apartment Scheme for London Square Putney, a landmark development of cascading levels designed by Stirling Prize winners AHMM in Upper Richmond Road. The judges commented:
“Small in unit numbers, big in turnover, huge in ambition, London Square is a remarkable story. Set up by former senior Barratt executive Adam Lawrence in 2010 when the housebuilding world was still reeling from the credit crunch, London Square, backed by Ares Management, has carved a niche name for itself in the capital and beyond, with beautifully designed, finished and nuanced schemes across the price spectrum.”
Rupert Bates, host of the Awards and editorial director of new homes portal whathouse.com, said:
“The standards achieved by the winners get more impressive every year, and our panel of independent judges had to work hard to pick the very best from hundreds of entries.”
Adam Lawrence, Chief Executive, London Square, said:
“The Best Small Housebuilder of the Year award is the very best tribute to everyone who believed in us, backed us and have worked with us over the past five years to create some truly outstanding homes in the capital.”
