A stylish two-bedroom apartment at The Glasshouse at London Square Caledonian Road has won the prestigious Grand Prix award - the top prize at this year’s Evening Standard New Homes Awards 2019.

The Grand Prix Award is presented to the overall winner, picked from 20 prize-winning projects at the event this year, now in its 28thyear. The Glasshouse had earlier won Best London Home, which celebrates the capital’s most outstanding homes, offering value for money and meeting the buyers’ lifestyle needs.

The awards "champion excellence across the housing spectrum, from innovative first-time buyer flats to family houses, factory lofts and dazzling conversions. Judged by readers, this year's winners showcase everything that buyers are looking for in a home — thoughtful design, eco-friendly features and flexible designer interiors," according to the Evening Standard.

The gleaming Eros trophy for the Grand Prix award was presented to Rebecca Littler, London Square’s Sales and Marketing Director, by former England rugby star James Haskell at a glittering ceremony in Mayfair.

This is an incredible accolade from the readers of the Evening Standard and we are so proud to have won it. The award for The Glasshouse reflects London Square’s ethos of creating homes of the very highest design standards in good locations where people want to live in the capital.

The Glasshouse at London Square Caledonian Road, is part of wider regeneration sparked by the remarkable transformation of nearby King's Cross. The development is built on the site of a former car showroom on Caledonian Road, next to the green open spaces of Market Gardens, and two minutes from Underground and seven minutes to the Overground station and on a number of bus routes - a short walk from King’s Cross.

In the citation for the award, the Evening Standard stated

London Square, the developer, came up with a "place-making" scheme of restrained design - five low-to-mid-rise blocks clad in pastel-coloured bricks, with metal window frames and full-height glass, set around landscaped courtyards and play areas. The project incorporates Cally Yard, a new hub for creative businesses.

Apartments are bright and open-plan, with underfloor heating and a balcony plus there will be an onsite gym and 24-hour concierge service.

The Glasshouse is the development’s focal point — a nine-storey block with a white exterior, extensive glazing and a hotel-type entrance lobby. The winning two-bedroom apartment has a triple-aspect open-plan living area.

A number of apartments are now available with Help to Buy, with one bedroom apartments starting from £560,000. Two bedroom apartments start from £785,000. For sales information, contact 0333 666 0109 or [email protected]

London Square’s success at the Evening Standard Homes Awards follows its record-breaking performance at the WhatHouse? Awards, where the company won five gold awards, three for The Star and Garter, plus two gold awards and a bronze award for London Square Streatham Hill.
