Leading residential developer London Square has won two highly prestigious prizes at this year’s Surrey Property Awards, which took place at G Live in Guildford.
The stunning Arts and Crafts style development, London Square Walton On Thames, was centre stage at the glittering ceremony when it was unveiled as the Development of Outstanding Architectural Merit and the Best New Homes Development with over 20 units.
In front of a packed audience of industry professionals, the trophies were presented by TV presenter and former England rugby international Martin Bayfield, to the London Square team led by Jo McDonagh, Sales and Marketing Director, and Becky Boden, Head of Sales, Matt Phillips, Technical Director and Louise Class-Kirtley, Sales Executive at London Square Walton On Thames.
"The winning project has optimised the full potential of the site to provide much-needed housing in a sustainable location. The architects have used a mix of materials, details and articulation to provide high levels of visual interest, which in turn has created a sense of place and identity. Overall the winning project has made a very positive contribution to the character of the area with an outstanding display of architectural features.”
James Deverill, Chair of RIBA Surrey

London Square Walton On Thames is a new classic neighbourhood which reflects the Surrey Arts and Crafts design vernacular, set in over five acres of gardens with mature trees and landscaping in the exclusive Ashley Park area of Walton-on-Thames, in the coveted Elmbridge area of Surrey. The collection of distinctive and imposing three and four bedroom homes and five bedroom detached houses, all with private gardens, plus handsome one and two bedroom apartments, sparked huge interest, with properties being snapped up by buyers impressed by the outstanding quality of the properties and its location.
Every house reflects the renowned Surrey Arts and Crafts style of architecture, with design flourishes featuring generous bay windows and impressive facades, from a mellow palette of red, grey and yellow brick. The specification is excellent with Shaker style or sleek, contemporary kitchens, depending on house type; utility rooms, studies and dressing rooms, with flooring featuring stone and herringbone wood finishes, plus fireplaces in selected homes. Handsome one and two bedroom apartments, with attractive tile-hung pitched roofs and Arts and Crafts detail, provide an excellent option for first-time buyers, home movers and downsizers.
The new neighbourhood is designed to make the most of family living. For working parents, there is an on-site day nursery. Walton Tennis Club is next door, with tennis for all ages and standards. In the local area, there are good shops, a farmers’ market, riverside trails and water sports within walking distance, open spaces, excellent schools, both independent and state, for all ages.
