Award-winning developer London Square has secured planning permission from the London Borough of Brent for a cleverly designed mixed use development, featuring 301 high quality new homes in Willesden, North-west London.
Currently used as a specialist plant hire yard and designated by Brent as a significant industrial space, the London Square development in Dudden Hill Lane has been designed by Assael Architecture to deliver a thriving new community with significant placemaking, combining attractive commercial and industrial space with 301 one, two and three bedroom new homes, with 50 affordable homes which include 25 family apartments.
The homes will sit above a plinth of almost 5,000 sq m of commercial and industrial space with a café, gym and a supermarket set in leafy open spaces and 3,000 sq m of community amenities for residents. A series of mini-courtyards will be created with gardens, quiet spaces, allotments, children’s play and sports facilities, arranged to respond to the micro-climate of the site.
New pedestrian links will be created from the High Road and Colin Road to Dudden Hill Lane and nearby Dollis Hill Station to provide safe routes for commuters.
Willesden straddles the NW10 and NW2 postcodes, with a thriving town centre, excellent transport links, good schools and is close to the affluent neighbourhoods at Brondesbury Park, Queen’s Park and Kensal Rise. Start on site will be March 2025, with expected completion late 2027 onwards.
