London Square has begun the handover of 465 Build to Rent apartments at its award-winning development at Nine Elms – the final phase in the transformation of central London’s largest regeneration area.
The buildings form part of London Square’s ‘triple tenure’ development at Nine Elms which is delivering 756 for sale, Build to Rent and affordable homes on the 14-acre site of the former Royal Mail sorting office.
The Build to Rent element, which spans two blocks ranging from nine to 14 storeys, features stylish apartments, co-working spaces with meeting rooms, a gym, cinema room and roof terrace. These are now being handed over to Moda Living, who will operate it as their first London scheme.
The for-sale apartments are housed in a striking 23-storey bronze-panelled building, designed by renowned architects Allies and Morrison, are now occupied with the duplex penthouses The Luminaries set to launch towards the end of the year. PA Housing will also take receipt of 103 affordable homes over the summer.
The new neighbourhood is the last of the 35-plus sites within the c561 acre Nine Elms regeneration scheme. Adjacent to the US Embassy, London Square’s buildings also overlook the 2.5 mile long linear park, a green ribbon of public outdoor spaces and gardens, which runs from Battersea Power Station to Vauxhall Cross.
London Square is growing its Build to Rent portfolio. The business has acquired a number of sites including developments at Stratford Cross and Woolwich, which will be delivered either as dedicated Build to Rent, or include rental units as part of a multi tenure offer.
