Ease into the start of your 2023 step goal by taking a stroll around the grassy area of Hampstead Heath. March around the loop or trek up Parliament Hill for an incredible view of the city skyline. You could even make a pit stop with a stately tour of Kenwood House for free. Whether it’s the calm of a pond or the adventure of woodland you’re after, this North London greenery has it all.
Start your year off feeling like royalty with a walk through the formal gardens of Kensington Palace, one of the most beautiful homes in the Capital. Although it’s open to the public, it has an intimate feel, perhaps due to its association as the ‘back garden’ of Kensington Palace. Afterwards, you can retire home to binge watch The Crown with a cup of tea.
Keep walking past Kensington Gardens and you’ll find yourself in Hyde Park. It may be a little cold for a swim, but if you’re feeling brave, you could dip your toes in the Diana Memorial fountain, or just admire the views across the lake from the waterside café. If you’re needing an escape from the cold, you could even immerse yourself in contemporary art at the Serpentine Gallery. A bonus: Hyde Park just a 30-minute tube ride from our Bermondsey development.
Richmond Park is the largest of the eight Royal Parks of London. Covering an area of 2,500 acres, you can be sure to catch a glimpse of the magnificent deer, as well as ancient trees and other wildlife. It's a fantastic spot for a winter outing and one of London's many free activities. Don’t forget to stop for a slice of cake at Pembroke Lodge.
