Kwasi Kwarteng, Business Minister and MP for Spelthorne, praised the tangible improvements being delivered by London Square Staines Upon Thames, on a visit to the £120m regeneration scheme in the heart of the riverside town.

 

The MP was shown around a newly completed elevated garden square and was given a tour of the development by London Square’s Chief Executive, Adam Lawrence. Other guests included The Mayor of Spelthorne, Cllr Mary Madams, plus a group of councillors, officers and key people from the town’s business community.

It was good to see the progress being made at the London Square development in Staines-upon-Thames, and the improvements it is already delivering to the high street and the area near the station.  I was pleased to hear that a number of residents have already moved into the new homes. We now look forward to seeing the commercial spaces attract new businesses, to help boost the local economy.

We were delighted to welcome the Minister and MP, Kwasi Kwarteng, along with The Mayor of Spelthorne and representatives from Spelthorne Council and local businesses.  We are very proud to see the difference our development is already making to the town and that it has become part the local community.

The mixed use scheme is designed to help stimulate the revitalisation of the town centre, and provide a new focus for the area between the station and the high street.

London Square is delivering 260 new homes, 17,222 sq ft of retail and commercial spaces at street level and above, a stunning new public piazza and landscaped green spaces in the first phase. The mix of one, two, and three-bedroom apartments, all with private balconies or terraces, have been created in four striking buildings with attractive brick finishes.

The blocks are arranged around the new elevated garden square, which has been skilfully designed and constructed on top of a concealed five-storey car park. There is also cycle storage for residents.  

London Square is partnering with Clarion Housing Group on the second phase of 104 homes, which will provide 100 per cent affordable housing, and will act as development managers on the site.
