London Square continues to switch where possible to more sustainable product options and reduce transport miles.
In 2022 we made the decision to reduce scope 3 carbon and support the UK economy by buying British products, where the scheme design permits.
Procurement is complex and our strategy must balance product quality, sustainability, affordability and the viability of schemes.
We also aim to be aware of product provenance, including those that are assembled in the UK with components sourced internationally.
Today we have Group agreements in place with British suppliers for over eight categories of products including blocks, plasterboard, heat pumps, insulation and door sets.
Wilton Park is a 194 home scheme on a former Ministry of Defence site in Buckinghamshire. As a low-rise traditional build, London Square will be able to specify a wider range of British products than is typical in its high-rise developments. Overall we estimate that over 50% of our material spend on Wilton Park will be on British made products.
