Award-winning residential developer London Square recently invited 26 Year Six children from Chigwell Primary Academy to the London Square Chigwell Village development, to learn about site Health & Safety. The day included a range of activities designed to educate the children about site Health & Safety, while also lifting the lid on careers in the construction industry. London Square project manager Keith May gave a Health & Safety talk, followed by a tour of the model to show what is being built at the development and a look at the stunning new show home on site. The children also got to have a go at making their own brick wall, as well as a hands-on demonstration of plant machinery – including a lofty crane that is used to carry items around the site. The day was supported by friendly construction industry mascot Ivor Goodsite. Elaine Brook, Executive Headteacher at Chigwell Primary Academy, said: “The children thoroughly enjoyed their visit and loved learning about what goes into creating a new housing development, as well as the vital Health & Safety that comes with it. London Square are very accommodating and we look forward to doing more activities together in future.”
