Their latest partnership project is at the former Egerton Road campus of Richmond College, known as Twickenham Square, where 212 new homes are being delivered. Once completed, the development will provide 50% affordable housing, with a mix of London Affordable Rent and Shared Ownership homes to help meet local housing needs.
Twickenham Square features a range of one, two and three bedroom apartments, all with balconies or terraces, designed around a central landscaped square and spacious three and four bedroom family houses with private gardens. The development will also create new landscaped public areas and pedestrian-friendly routes across the neighbourhood.
At a ceremony to celebrate progress at Twickenham Square, a silver birch tree was planted next to the London Square marketing suite in Egerton Road.
VIP guests were given a tour of the site to see the first homes under construction and discussed the positive impacts of partnership working to help promote housing delivery in the borough. The guests included:
Cllr Jim Millard - Deputy Leader of the Council and Lead Member for Finance and Resources
Cllr Chris Varley - Lead Member for Housing
Cllr Julia Neden-Watts - Deputy Leader of the Council

Twickenham Square is London Square’s fourth development in the London Borough of Richmond Upon Thames, with another current project at nearby Twickenham Green, featuring a collection of stylish two, three and four bedroom mews houses and apartments next to the River Crane, a tributary of the River Thames, with an attractive waterfront and landscaped outdoor spaces. Past projects in the borough are the multi-award winning restoration and conversion of The Star and Garter Building on Richmond Hill and a collection of family homes and apartments in Teddington.
This year also marks London Square’s 15th anniversary, from its establishment in 2010 to its position as the capital’s fastest growing developer, and Clarion Housing Group’s 125th anniversary, from its origins in 1900 as the Sutton Dwellings Trust, to becoming the UK’s largest housing association.
