Leading residential developer London Square has agreed a £110m joint venture with Latimer, the development arm of Clarion Housing Group, on the former Richmond College campus site in Twickenham, South-west London - close to the home of England Rugby.
The former Richmond upon Thames College campus site in Egerton Road, near Twickenham Stadium and Harlequins’ Twickenham Stoop, was given planning approval for 212 homes, with 51 per cent being affordable, in August 2022 by the London Borough of Richmond.
In partnership with Latimer, London Square will develop the scheme and sell the private homes element, withthe affordable homes being managed by Clarion Housing.
Demolition of the college blocks is under way to build the sustainable mixed tenure development, comprising 108 affordable homes, which includes a mix of 28 homes for London Affordable Rent and 80 for Shared Ownership, with another 104 homes for private sale. The first homes are expected to be completed in 2026.
The attractive scheme has been designed by leading architects BPTW, with Levitt Bernstein providing the landscape design. The development will be all Net Zero Carbon compatible homes. The site is a short walk to Twickenham station, with regular services to London Waterloo.
The development will be known as Twickenham Square and will be the fourth scheme London Square has partnered with Latimer to deliver. They are already working together to deliver the shared ownership homes at London Square Croydon, as well as providing 100 per cent affordable housing on schemes in Neasden and the second phase at Staines-upon-Thames.
Adam Lawrence, Founder and Chief Executive, London Square, said: We look forward to building a really outstanding scheme at Twickenham Square. Our continued partnership with Latimer and Clarion Housing Group means that we will be delivering much-needed affordable homes alongside homes for private sale, all reflecting the outstanding quality and design that London Square is committed to building, irrespective of tenure.
