London Square’s independent registered provider Square Roots scooped the top accolade at the First Time Buyer Awards for Best Medium Development of the Year with its first ever scheme of affordable homes.
London Square also received highly commended in the Private Developer of the Year category for the quality homes it delivers for first time buyers across all its sites in Greater London.
At a glittering awards lunch at London’s Grosvenor Marriott hotel in Mayfair, Square Roots Kingston, the first development to launch from Square Roots, was chosen as Best Medium Development of the Year. Square Roots was awarded Registered Provider status last year, following its establishment by London Square as an independent provider, to deliver much-needed affordable homes for shared ownership and for affordable rent across Greater London.
Leading TV personality and presenter Nicki Chapman presented Square Roots Managing Director Barbara Richardson and the team with a trophy in front of a packed audience from the property industry. Nicki Chapman paid tribute to Square Roots for providing: “an attainable way to purchase a quality home.”

Square Roots Kingston launched in April this year, a boutique collection of 52 one, two and three bedroom shared ownership apartments and homes for affordable rent in a tree-lined neighbourhood on the edge of London's largest Royal Park, Richmond Park. Now sold out, the apartments were priced from £108,125 for a minimum 25% share value of a one bedroom apartment. Square Roots now has more than 1000 homes under construction at sites in Lewisham, Hendon, a second site in Kingston and Crayford, with the strategic objective of building 3,500 homes in the next five years.
