London Square has submitted a planning application to transform Wimbledon Bridge House into an attractive residential led development which will play a vital role in the evolution of this popular suburb in south west London.
Constructed in 1989, the vacant office building was acquired by London Square earlier this year. It stands in a prominent position opposite Wimbledon train station and one mile from the All England Lawn Tennis Club, home of the Wimbledon Championships, which attract over half a million visitors every year.
Working with Fourfoursixsix Architects, London Square proposes to extend and reconfigure the building into a vibrant mixed-use scheme, delivering new homes, commercial space, and improvements at street level.
New designs for the façade have also been submitted to enhance the building’s contribution to the local area. Overall, the plans include 123 studio, one, two and three bedroom apartments alongside c27,000 sq ft of commercial floorspace, supporting local employment and retail opportunities.
