Award-winning London Square has acquired its ninth site since setting up just three years ago - the former offices of trade union Unite in Hayes, South-east London. The 6.36 acre site at Hayes Court on West Common Road, was purchased from Unite, includes an attractive Grade II listed office building, landscaped grounds, with an historic lawned area. London Square, founded by former Barratt regional chairman Adam Lawrence with a £100 million capital three years ago, has appointed Formation Architects to create a scheme to deliver a sensitive conversion and restoration of the listed offices into apartments, with family houses in the grounds. A planning application will be submitted later this year to the London Borough of Bromley. Hayes is a key commuter spot, with direct trains running into both London Cannon Street and London Charing Cross in around 40 minutes. Bromley town centre is very close by, just under four miles away, offering good shopping and leisure facilities and open spaces. The mix of highly rated state and independent schools in the area also makes it a popular destination for families. Brian Betsy, Managing Director at London Square, said: “Hayes Court offers an excellent opportunity to convert former offices that are no longer fit for purpose into homes, reflecting the Government’s desire to turn redundant commercial spaces into attractive communities where people want to live. The Hayes area has a lot to offer families, young professionals and downsizers, with good transport links into the City and West End. This latest acquisition fits in with our ethos of creating homes in first-class locations.”
