Award-winning residential developer London Square has completed on the £25 million acquisition of Hayes Court on West Common Road, Hayes BR2 – the former offices of the trade union Unite. Set behind grand gates, the main Grade II listed office building will be sensitively converted into eight residential apartments with a collection of nine mews houses and six detached houses built in the grounds, 6.36 acres in total, with views over open green space and the historic lawn area. Brian Betsy, Managing Director of London Square, said: “Hayes Court offers an excellent opportunity to convert former offices that are no longer fit for purpose into homes, reflecting the Government’s desire to turn redundant commercial spaces into attractive communities where people want to live. The Hayes area has a lot to offer families, young professionals and downsizers, with good transport links into the City and West End. We are delighted to be able to complete on the acquisition and begin our work on creating more homes in another first-class location, which fits with our ethos.” The appointed architects are Formation Architects, chosen for its outstanding track record with restoration projects including Lots Road Power Station in Chelsea, The Berkeley Hotel in Knightsbridge and The Langham in Westminster. Hayes is a key commuter spot, with direct trains running into both London Cannon Street and London Charing Cross in around 40 minutes. Bromley town centre is very close by, just under four miles away, offering good shopping and leisure facilities and open spaces. The mix of highly rated state and independent schools in the area also makes it a popular destination for families. London Square has started demolition on site and sales are expected in Autumn 2015.
