Major new residential developer London Square was named Newcomer of the Year at the first ever RESI awards last night.
The prestigious judging panel, comprising over 30 industry heavyweights, were impressed with the quality of the new homebuilder’s significant £360 million development pipeline – which includes nine sites across the capital that will deliver in excess of 600 new homes.
Adam Lawrence, chief executive of London Square, said: “Being recognised as Newcomer of the Year by the most influential people in the industry is a real accolade and a testament to the highly talented and hardworking team. In just two years we have built a business from scratch and next week will see the launch of our impressive Wimbledon Village development. We now have nine sites underway across London in prime areas including Shoreditch, Fulham and Putney. Building homes that people really want to live in, in sought-after locations, is what London Square is all about.”
The RESI Awards are an exciting extension to the RESI Conference and are designed to recognise and reward the leading players involved in all aspects of residential property including development, investment, management, construction and funding.
Having launched just two years ago with £100 million of capital, London Square has already redrawn the capital’s housebuilding map. It recently won planning permission to create a smart new £100 million residential square in Fulham, SW6, which will transform a former rundown light industrial trading estate into 40 new townhouses with private gardens and terraces, reflecting the tradition of one of the capital’s most coveted architectural styles.
