On Saturday 27 May, over 50 people queued for the launch of Help to Buy at London Square Isleworth, a stylish new development of 162 apartments in West London – just 40 minutes from London Waterloo. A number of hopeful buyers spent the night in their cars, with a queue forming from around 3.30am before the event started at 11am. On the day, London Square reserved 28 plots in one block with the Government backed Help to Buy scheme, contributing to the entire development now being over 90 per cent sold. Help to Buy allows buyers to purchase a newbuild apartment under £600,000 with just a five percent deposit and up to a 40% equity loan. First time buyer Amandeep Sonik and her partner Arin Bhalsod were the first to queue, reserving a two bedroom property. Amandeep comments: “It was very tiring but equally exciting to secure our first home, while also giving us a chance to meet our potential new neighbours. I can’t wait until December to move in – it will be worth the all night queuing!”
