On Thursday 19, The Worshipful Mayor of the Borough of Spelthorne, Councillor Alfred Friday, joined by his wife Mayoress Mrs Kaye Friday, attended an exclusive reception and ribbon cutting ceremony at London Square Staines-upon-Thames, an exciting regeneration project in the heart of the town centre. The event gave a chance for the Mayor and key Council staff, alongside members of the Spelthorne Business Forum, to have an early preview of the development, which launches to the public on Saturday 28 January. The afternoon included a drinks and canape reception, as well as guided tours of the new show apartment on site. When complete, London Square Staines-upon-Thames will comprise a total of 260 studio, one, two and three bedroom apartments set around a landscaped courtyard, plus commercial space fronted by an attractive piazza.
The Mayor of the Borough of Spelthorne, Councillor Alfred Friday, comments: “Last year the council introduced the strapline ‘Spelthorne means business’, which is to be at the heart of everything that the borough stands for. When Kaye and I became Mayor and Mayoress we said that we wanted to make Spelthorne sparkle. This project exemplifies both these objectives and I am delighted to launch it today. It has quality, design and sparkle that will breathe new life into this part of town, while acting as a catalyst for change across the area.”
