On Tuesday 17 October, the Mayor of Spelthorne, Cllr Vivienne Leighton, attended a special reception at London Square Staines upon Thames, an exciting 260 home mixed-use regeneration project in the heart of the town centre.
The reception event, which had the theme of ‘positive growth, investment and the future of Staines upon Thames’, was well attended by members of the Spelthorne BID (Business Improvement District) and members of the public, with guest speakers including the Mayor, Steven Harvey - Managing Director of Oasis Estate Agents, and Daniel Mouawad - CEO of Spelthorne Borough Council. Topics included changes to infrastructure, the improving economy and growth potential in the area thanks to demand and new opportunities, with London Square Staines upon Thames praised as a highly positive project that would help form the catalyst for further improvement in the town centre.
Staines upon Thames has improved dramatically over the past 30 years, with a burgeoning local economy, increased levels of investment and an improved retail offering helping to boost the town centre.
London Square Staines upon Thames will play a key part in the future of the town. It is a well-designed project that has the quality required to help the area grow, with much needed new homes, retail and communal space that will help bring new life to this end of the high street. It is exactly the type of project that we need and marks a significant milestone for Staines upon Thames and Spelthorne Borough.
