Nearly 2,000 potential buyers have registered to view homes at a new classic Arts and Crafts style neighbourhood being created in the popular riverside town of Walton-on- Thames in Surrey’s commuter belt.

London Square Walton On Thames, by award-winning developer London Square, has seen record demand ahead of the main launch next month. The development features 104 homes, a mix of family houses and apartments set in beautiful grounds,  close to the river, open spaces, excellent schools and transport links.

Jo McDonagh, Sales and Marketing Director of London Square, said:

We have seen an incredible response from buyers, with the biggest rise in registrations taking place during the current lockdown. This shows the strength of pent-up demand for quality homes in a really good location. This latest lockdown has given people the opportunity to think carefully about where they want to live and the kind of life they want to lead. The interest has come from people living in London, as well as those living locally, from first-time buyers to young families to downsizers. This reflects the range of beautifully designed, first-class homes and the unrivalled quality of the lifestyle that Walton-on-Thames offers.

London Square Walton On Thames is set in over five acres of gardens with mature trees and landscaping, in the coveted Ashley Park area. The three, four and five bedroom family houses are distinctive and imposing, reflecting the renowned Surrey Arts and Crafts style of architecture, with design flourishes featuring generous bay windows and impressive facades. A mellow palette of red, grey and yellow brick is being used to create highly individual homes, all with private gardens, many screened by mature trees. The interior specification is outstanding, with fabulous Shaker style or sleek, contemporary kitchens, depending on house type, with utility

rooms, studies and dressing rooms, stone and herringbone wood flooring and fireplaces in selected homes.

There is also a range of handsome one and two bedroom apartments built to the highest standards, with attractive tile-hung pitched roofs, bay windows and Arts and Crafts style brick detail. The interiors are spacious and stylish with generous open-plan living areas, with some apartments featuring balconies,  high specification

kitchens featuring AEG or Zanussi appliances, spacious main bedrooms with fitted wardrobes and luxurious bathrooms with high-quality fittings and gleaming chrome detailing.

The landscaped grounds are framed by mature trees, with new planting including beech, laurel and holly hedges, and acers to provide a spectacular display of colour in the autumn. Seats are carefully positioned throughout for residents to enjoy a quiet moment.

Facilities include an on-site daycare nursery, plus the highly regarded Walton-on-Thames Tennis Club next door, with social and competitive play for all ages.

The development is a short walk from the historic and pretty town centre, with shops, independent boutiques, a Surrey farmers’ market, a fitness centre, and great places for eating and drinking, including riverside dining. There are Thameside walks and watersports such as rowing and paddleboarding.  Ashley Park, with woods, a children’s play area and the home of Walton-on-Thames Cricket Club is a short walk. The town’s train station is a 12-minute walk, with fast trains to London Waterloo taking 26 minutes.

The range of schools in the area is excellent, with three local primary schools rated outstanding by Ofsted and highly rated secondary schools nearby. There are also exceptional private schools nearby.
