Players at Walton and Hersham Youth Football Club are proudly showing off their new jackets thanks to a new partnership between the club and award-winning developer London Square.
The jackets have been funded by London Square for all the players at the club, providing a warm layer at football sessions, training and matches for boys and girls who live in the Walton, Hersham and surrounding areas. The club is run by a dedicated group of volunteers, mainly parents. All the young footballers from the age of four upwards receive high quality coaching by FA accredited coaches.
London Square is currently building a new neighbourhood of stylish Arts and Crafts style homes in the Ashley Park area at Stompond Lane, Walton-on-Thames, with a mix of high quality three, four and five bedroom houses and one and two bedroom apartments set in attractive, tree-lined grounds of over five acres. The development has proved to be enormously popular with local families buying homes there and also those moving from London in search of a quality lifestyle and the amenities on offer in the area. London Square acquired the 7.8 acre former sports ground site in Stompond Lane, from Elmbridge Borough Council in 2015 and the sale helped to fund the council's construction of a new sports hub in Waterside Drive.
Jo McDonagh, Sales and Marketing Director of London Square, said: “We are always keen to support organisations and groups in the areas where we build homes as part of our investment in the local community. Walton and Hersham Football Club does a wonderful job bringing children and parents together through sport and we are delighted to have supported the club in a very tangible way by funding jackets for the children.”
Danny Kent, Chairman, Walton and Hersham Youth FC, said: “We are hugely grateful to London Square for their support of Walton and Hersham Youth FC. Our players are proudly wearing their London Square sponsored jackets. Their commitment to our club highlights the important of youth sports for the mental and physical wellbeing of our young players. Walton and Hersham Youth FC allows young people from the local community to come together, to learn leadership, communications and social skills as well as football. It allows them to set aside their worries and thrive within a positive environment. London Square appreciate this and we thank them for their support.”
